My first eGo-T I put a Kanger tank on that was made of plastic, So I was restricted as to what e-liquids I could use. Still many of the flavor vendors add warnings on their flavors that they eat plastic, and I wonder if there is some connection in this case?

As we have been saying Cosmic, the Limonene ( a terpene) contained in many liquids is clearly to blame. I've looked at all my devices and checked those with silicon components, but as I don't often use flavours with strong citrus notes I don't think it's a problem for me.
There is a lot of data regarding silicon, rubber and some synthetic materials swelling and degrading due to terpenes in the world of commercial pumps and gaskets, but nothing online that I could find about vape devices. Basil provides the evidence above, the silicon has swollen to twice it's normal size in his image.
Interesting that you have seen flavours with warnings on them regarding this, do you have any to provide an image? Never seen any in the UK.
